i sought after a hand crank style ice cream maker like i dredge up my dad using when i was a child. i approved this one and it is great apart from for one huge point flaw. there is no latch to glue the tender parts (soubriquet, agitator, etc.) to the pail. as you crank, it just flops almost and as the ice cream thickens, it takes two broadcast. one to crank the soubriquet and a following self to hold the main unit. there needs to be a locking means to hold it tight. we have to cram stilted spoon handles in and wedge it and it still takes 2 broadcast to hold it while cranking. i called the companionship and told them a touch was wrong, idea i got a faulty one. they said "no, there is no locking latch any longer." i was very disappointed. no matter what sell a touch to a name got rid of the latch needs to have his head examined. if it werent for this point flaw, i would give it 5 stars.

With reviewing all of the reviews I was hoping that the reviews about the metal shavings being paid into the ice cream was just a problem with one or two apparatus. Sorry to say I encountered the same business. Who wants to eat ice cream diverse with metal shavings from the gears? I am shocked White Mountain hasn't flat this negligent flaw with all the reviews over the past couple of being. Do not hold this apparatus except you like intake metal with your ice cream.

This maker is awesome. I make my mixture the time before so it gets nice and cold and at that time it only takes 15 to 20 minutes for great ice-cream. I have found with the intention of the ice-cream doesn't make so hard and form crystals with a only just any days in the freezer if you put just a crumb bit of rum in the mixture.
