After stabbing 19 kids and one adult inside Franklin Regional High School, suspect Alex Hribalwas reportedly charged on April 9with four counts of attempted homicide, 21 counts of aggravated assault, andone count of carrying a weapon on school property.
Alex Hribal, 16, was chargedas an adult, after enteringFranklin Regional High School in Murrysville, Pennsylvaniawith two knives and began stabbing anyone in the hallway, WPIX reported. Three students are in critical condition while four are in serious condition. Meanwhile, students are speaking out about what they saw, and how horrifying it was.
Alex HribalCharged As AdultAlexs charges were first reported by WPIXs Twitter account. During a press conference, PoliceChief Tom Seefeld stated that the student had two knives 8-10 long and that his stabbing spree took only five minutes. The motive is not yet known.
While he is only 16, hewill be charged as an adult. In 1996, the laws of who could be charged as an adult changed, according to theNational Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS).
Prior, only those charged with murder were excluded from the juveniles court jurisdiction in the state of Penn. However, in 96, individuals who met the following threeconditions could be charged:
-Youth who were 15 years of age or older at the time of their alleged conduct.
-Youth who were charged with any of a list of violent crimes (i.e., rape; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; aggravated assault; robbery; robbery of a motor vehicle; aggravated indecent assault; kidnaping; voluntary manslaughter; or an attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation to commit murder or any of the crimes listed).
-Youth who allegedly committed the offense with a deadly weapon or were adjudicated previously for one of the excluded offenses.

(Nate) took the stab right in his arm and saved my friend and me. Im pretty sure it was his instinct. He didnt want anyone to get hurt. He told everybody to run away, she explained, adding that he then pulled the fire alarm so that students would be able to get out.
